A fat transfer is discussed only when three conditions are present: a donor area with enough fat to collect, a stable weight, and a goal that fits small-to-moderate volume, contour or skin quality.

• Suitable: adults with stable weight and available donor fat who want to restore volume or contour in a defined area, or improve laxity and skin quality with their own tissue.

Being outpatient and under local anaesthesia, it does not involve a hospital stay.
